There are two Greek festivals taking place in the space of a month, here in Minnesota. First, the historic city of St. Paul will overflow with gyros replete with feta and tzatziki starting Aug. 22, then the Greeks will invade Minneapolis, on Sept. 11.
Minneapolis promises to deliver a three-day block party, whereas the St. George Greek Festival in St. Paul spans the length of one day. Both events bring art, music, and food straight from the stone steppes of that Mediterranean peninsula to our quiet Midwestern cities.
